How Can We Make EG More Popular & Active?

So far, Emerald Gaming has been in a huge slouch of inactivity. There's little going on around here, and few members stay here to post. How can we make EG more popular in general to the Sonic fans, and others? We already have support signatures, which is helping somewhat, but we have to break the barriers. In my opinion, we should make the site look aesthetically different. I think we need to use something different from Forumumotion, such as IP.Boards. Everything will look neater, cooler, and more up to date. Other than that, post your ideals on what you think should happen to get this place goin' again.

I'd almost consider Branches comment an idea if it wasn't so counter-productive.

We we're planning to re-image the site, using a different forum platform was going to be too much of a pain in the ass for something that probably wouldn't boost traffic, the current site isn't too complicated or cluttered (aside from the two different chat boxes). The other thing was changing the site from being centered around SEGA/Sonic and making it a General gaming forum (so it wouldn't be so conflicting with other sites such as TSC or SSMB), changing the look of the skin and reorganising the forums again.

But everything seemed to die off around this time, and we we're left with 5 or 6 active members with waning interest. There's too little activity to be worth any massive overhaul.
